Shipping

Building your custom-tailored prescription eyewear to perfection takes time. The total time it takes us to make your new glasses depends on your prescription and the lens features you choose. Most custom orders are ready to ship within 2 weeks from receiving your prescription. (This estimate excludes weekends and holidays.)

All SportRx orders include free domestic ground shipping via UPS or USPS, which takes approximately 5–7 days.

Express shipping is available for $12 and shipping time is 3-5 business days to most locations.

Overnight shipping is available for $30 and is one business day to most locations. Please keep in mind that overnight shipping to rural addresses (including many awesome snow resorts!) is typically two business days. Overnight shipping is not available to PO Box, APO/FPO/DPO, or international addresses. All APO, FPO, and DPO United States military addresses are shipped via USPS.

For international orders, we ship to Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. International orders are shipped via USPS and can take up to two weeks for delivery.

Yes! All orders to APO/FPO/DPO addresses are shipped via USPS Priority Mail.

  • Address number
  • Recipient’s box number
  • “State” designator: AA, AP, or AE
  • Post office type: APO, FPO, or DPO – this goes in the “City” field
  • Zip Code

For example:

Returns & Exchanges

If you need to have your eyewear replaced under warranty, reach out to one of Sports Opticians to begin the warranty process. They'll begin a return authorization, set up your replacement order, and send you a return label* so you can ship your original eyewear back to us. Once we receive your original order, we'll process your warranty replacement, and if needed, begin production on your replacement lenses.

*For Domestic orders only. Sorry, international friends - we're unable to provide return labels to international addresses.

Frames and prescription lenses are covered under independent warranties.

Non-prescription orders: Warranty information for non-prescription orders varies based on many factors, and not every brand includes a warranty. To learn more, please reach out to one of our seasoned Sports Opticians. We’re happy to help!

Brand prescription lenses: Brand prescription lenses (not frames) have a one or two year, one-time warranty depending on the brand. If you’re not sure what the warranty is on your branded prescription lenses, give us a call!

SportRx brand prescription lens coatings: All SportRx anti-reflective, mirrored, and scratch coatings include a one or two year lens warranty. Each coating shows its warranty information when you select it during the build process. All coatings are eligible for a one-time lens replacement for scratches within the warranty period specified for the selected coating. Sorry, this does not cover updated prescriptions, lens materials, coatings or frame changes.

Rx goggle inserts: Goggle inserts do not include a warranty. However, if you feel you have received a defective product, please reach out to us! We’ll do all we can to make it right.

All warranties are limited to exact replicas of the original order and do not cover upgrades or changes.

When you shop with SportRx, you're always backed by our See Better Guarantee™. Take 45 days with your new eyewear and if they're anything short of perfection, let us know and we'll make it right. We've got you covered for shipping — both ways — and never charge restocking fees. Get clear vision in a frame you love or get 100% money back. It's a promise!

Frames & Lenses

Of course! We love visitors. Feel free to stop by our San Diego Store to check out some shades or engage in a friendly Nerf war! Want to hang out more permanently? Send your resume to careers@sportrx.com to be considered for any open positions!

Each frame page has details with different frame measurements, and an overall size for the frame. Generally speaking, frames with measurements similar to eyeglasses or sunglasses that you currently wear comfortably will fit very similarly.

Confused or unsure? Not to worry! One of our optical ninjas can help you find frames that will fit you based on your current glasses, your PD, and even your hat size and height. Or, consider our Test Ride program to try a few frames before you purchase in prescription!

SportRx’s Test Run program is our at-home frame try-on program. With a Test Run, you can choose a selection of frames to “try before you buy.” One of our opticians can help you put together a selection of frames that will be ideal for your prescription and activity needs, in a size that will work for you. We pay for shipping both ways!

Insurance & FSA / HSA

SportRx is considered an “out-of-network” provider for most vision insurances. Depending on your vision insurance plan, you may be eligible for reimbursement for your SportRx purchase by providing an itemized receipt to your vision insurance company. Visit our insurance page for more details, including contact information and reimbursement claim forms for many of the common vision insurance plans.

You will need to place your order by 11:59PM Pacific time on the last day that you are allowed to use your funds. If you’re using a credit card that has been issued by your FSA, it’s best to speak to one of our opticians to place your order over the phone to ensure that your card is charged before the deadline.

FSAs (Flexible Spending Accounts) and HSAs (Health Savings Accounts) are different types of “flex” accounts that individuals may have set up either by their employer or independently. In either case, money is set aside into an account that may be used specifically for medically-related purchases.

Prescription

Pupillary distance (PD) is the distance between the centers of each eye. Your pupillary distance is an important piece of information when buying prescription glasses. If this measurement is not on current your prescription, just call the last place that performed your eye exam or let us measure it for you!

When you order your frames, we'll contact you with simple instructions so we can measure your PD without you having to come into the store. It'll be that easy.

Yes! We will have your prescription on file from any of your previous purchases. If the prescription is still valid, we can definitely use it for a new purchase. If you made an account with us, you can log in to your account to view past orders and saved prescriptions. You can also contact one of our opticians to verify that a prescription from a previous order is still valid, and to place a new order!

Prescriptions are specific to glasses or contact lenses, so we won’t be able to use your contact lens prescription to make glasses.

Goggles

Our innovative team of opticians developed our own proprietary line of custom prescription goggle inserts to fit virtually any snow goggle or MX goggle on the market. Our SportRx prescription goggle inserts are made out of impact-resistant polycarbonate, and they hold your prescription lenses securely inside your favorite snow goggle or MX goggle. They are custom-fitted to every goggle to ensure the perfect fit, comfort, and safety. Visit our blog for a video demo and more information about prescription goggles!

OTG means “over-the-glasses” and it’s a term used to describe goggles that are meant to fit over your eyeglasses. It’s a design that was developed before prescription goggle inserts were a thing. In our opinion, though, prescription goggle inserts are hands-down a better solution than OTG goggles. Check out our blog on prescription goggles for the full scoop!
